Bregenz (Bregenz), located in the most Western part of Austria at the Northern edge of the Alps between lake Constance, the third largest in Europe, and peak Pfander (1064 m), is the capital of Vorarlberg. To the West of Bregenz stretch of the valley, which forms the border with Switzerland, in the South of the towering Swiss Alps, and in the North with a stunning view of the lake extend to the hills surrounding allgäu and Bavaria.

Of greatest interest is the Upper town, the oldest buildings which date from the 13th-16th centuries. The main attractions of the Old town are a symbol of Bregenz — St. Martin tower (Martinsturm), on one of the floors which is a military Museum; old city Hall, built in 1662 and the Gothic Church of SV. Galla (18th century).

In the Lower town, a remarkable town Hall in 1686 and the Benedictine Abbey of Wettingen-Mehrerau. A mount Gebhardsberg are the ruins of the medieval castle of Hohenbregenz, which was destroyed by the Swedes in 1647.

Peak Pfander (Pfänder) promises an amazing 360-degree views of lake Constance, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and 240 peaks. This is one of the most popular places in the city with tourists, in addition, on top of the mountain organized a Safari zoo.

In Bregenz you can also visit the Casino and the Museum of modern art, Kunsthaus Bregenz, which is located on the square of Karl Tizian Platz.
