Augustenborg is an old Danish town. Like most Danish cities, it is small. Its population of about 3.5 thousand inhabitants. We visited it during a vacation the island of Als.

After two trips to Germany and Legoland – we decided that more go far will not, and will confine ourselves to explore the island to enjoy the charm of provincial Denmark. The guide recommended visiting the local castle, if you can call a castle a Palace in the classical style, as a place where there was the most famous Danish – Andersen.

Lim Fjord, Limfjorden — the system of the Straits in the North of the Jutland Peninsula of Denmark, connecting the North sea and the Kattegat sea.

The length is about 180 km.

Consists of servigny extensions — pools connected by narrow, winding channels. Lim fjord separates the island of North Jutland from the Jutland Peninsula. The prevailing depths are 3-5 meters, maximum depth is 24 meters.

In the lim-fjord, more than 90 Islands, the largest of them — Morse and Trucks.

Beautiful beaches spread along the shore are popular among tourists. A large number of churches and fortresses talking about the past power of this region.

The Laesoe is the largest island in the Kattegat. The area of 114 km2 and a population of 2.058 . Separated from Jutland by a Strait, the Laesoe Rennes width of 19 km. Island forms a separate municipality, included in the province of North Jutland. Center — the town of Byrum . On the island there are several villages, two harbors. There is a ferry to Frederikshavn on the Jutland Peninsula. The population employed in agriculture — dairy farming, rye, oats, sugar beets.The surface of the island is flat plain along the Northern coast there are dunes up to a height of 21 m.

Along with the island Anholt is called “desert zone of Denmark” because of the dry summer and destroyed vegetation.
