History of Cape Town is closely linked with the search for a trade route between India and Europe, during which seafarers scrutinized the southern coast of Africa. When the sea route to India was found, there was a need for a “transit point”, where ships could replenish drinking and eating. So there was a city Kapstad, which translated from Dutch means “town on the Cape” (Cape of Good Hope).

Equally important seaport, of course, could not fail to attract the attention of an influential in the shipping world, the British Empire. After years of war, the British finally managed to get Kapstad, and in 1814 the city became a British colony, it has been renamed in the English style in Cape Town.

Bloubergstrand – a suburb of Cape Town along the shores of Table Bay, about 25 km north of Cape Town city center. Bloubergstrand name literally means “blue mountain beach” in Afrikaans, and is derived from Blaauwberg, the neighboring mountains. Bloubergstrand – mainly residential area and attracts large numbers of visitors.

Bloubergstrand Beach – a popular location for a classic look at Table Mountain across the bay. Robben Island is located 6.9 km west of the coast of Bloubergstrand.

At Bloubergstrand has a long white sand beach on the Atlantic Ocean with a few rocky outcrops where black mussels are found. The water is cold because of the cold Benguela current, but the beach is like surfers.

Cape Town – South Africa’s most beautiful city both familiar and unfamiliar to our man. Emblem of the extent that each of us at least once in his life echoed in the company: “In the Cape Town harbor, with a hole in the board …”. A stranger, because even with the beginning of Russian Tourism in South Africa is not all drawn so far.
