The best place to discover the old Plymouth Barbican quarter, where among the fishing trawlers and super yachts to look out half-timbered houses and buildings of the Tudor era, and the streets are covered in cobblestone. Unfortunately, the historical heritage of Plymouth was partially destroyed during bombing in the Second world war. But Plymouth did not lose heart, year after year, the city slowly “preening” through the construction of shops, bars, restaurants and one of the most popular attractions of the city — Tinside Lido, which is a unique saltwater pool.

After the English revolution in 1666 in the Eastern part of the city to protect from naval attacks was built the Royal fortress. To the West of the castle and 22 km from the shore is a lighthouse, Smeatons tower, built in 1759. From the platform of the lighthouse a picturesque view of the city and harbour.

In Plymouth there are 20 war memorials, 9 of which are located on the top of the hill, including the Plymouth Naval memorial in memory of those killed in the First and Second World wars and the national memorial in honor of the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
